Start with the right MSC tracking resource
Use MSC’s Track a Shipment page for a carrier lookup. MSC’s US myMSC guide also documents searches by bill of lading, booking or container number. Follow the input options shown in the tool you use; an account-based myMSC workflow is separate from the public tracking page.
Match each event to the correct port
On a journey with transshipment, unloading at an intermediate port is different from discharge at the final destination. Compare the event location with your shipment route before planning collection. Keep estimated arrival dates separate from confirmed events.
Verify last free date separately
MSC’s US myMSC guide describes a last-free-date lookup that requires an MSC agency selection and a bill of lading or container search. This is a US workflow, not a universal free-time rule. Confirm the applicable local carrier and terminal terms for your shipment.
If an MSC update is missing
Check the reference against the current booking documents and verify the journey returned by the carrier. If the event is unclear, ask your MSC office or shipment agent about that event and location. Do not treat a past estimated date as confirmation that the movement occurred.

Is this the official MSC tracking page?

Does an ETA in the past mean my container has arrived?
No. An estimated time is not a completed event. Check for an actual arrival or discharge at the relevant destination and review the latest shipment update.
Can I check coverage before committing?
The CargoFlowPlus trial includes 30 days and 10 live shipments. Use your own references to check the available events and route coverage; it is not a promise that every carrier field or terminal update is available.
